intervention ruberic

- In your own words, what is intervention?
something that is outside normal society and changes someones look on life for that day.

- What was the purpose of this exercise?
to test your problem solving skills and to see what ideas you can come up with to change someones lives positively.

- Why did you choose to intervene the way you did? I’m looking for more than “I thought it would be funny” or “no one would expect it.”  What social/personal/human issue did you intend to comment on? Why? How?
i chose to intervene the way i did because i thought it would change someones outlook on life for that day at least so it would have the “pay it forward” affect so if one person did a good deed then the person they helped would do one and so on and so forth.

- Why did you choose the location? I’m looking for more thought than “lots of people would be there, so I went there.” How did the location play up your specific idea?
well it is a high traffic area an i know people that work there so i figured i wouldnt get in any trouble for doing it but even with alot of people being there i could not get anyone to find my intervention but it was a good spot to go to because its easy to hide something in plain sight and to hide a camera to catch the person finding it.

- Name three specific examples, ideas, artworks or statements you observed in class that helped you plan for this project.
i looked on vimeo at interventions and that helped a little bit but i just could not come up with an idea to do for this project. some of the things that helped me were like strangers on a train and mr. aumillers library example.

Now pull from all of your answers and write a succinct, coherent three paragraph artist statement about your intervention artwork. Use descriptive language. Explain yourself like the intelligent person you are.

Embed the video on your blog and post your artist statement under it. See my example if you need help.
my intervention was very difficult to figure out what to do at first i was having trouble finding a good idea to try out. all i could come up with was running around like a crazy person yelling random things at people. but thats not really an intervention that is just random that makes people wonder what is wrong with you. so when i was thinking of ideas i couldnt get one that would actually be a good intervention to try. eventually Mr. Aumiller just told me to stand on a table and scream "oh captain my captain" with my fist in the air. that gave me two good ideas that would actually be a good intervention. but the only thing was it was clod outside and it also rained the night that i was supposed to be in a tree so i couldnt do that.

so when i was thinking of what to do for this project i just could not think of anything this project was definitely the hardest project to think of an idea to do. i normally do not have that problem normally i know what i'm going to do the moment i hear what we are doing for the project. but this project hat didn't happen i was just having a block of ideas which is very interesting to me because that never happens to me. i'm an interesting person and normally i come up with interesting ideas right on the spot of things that are outside the norm and people would look at it and be like "what i cant believe someone did this this is the most interesting thing ive ever seen." but with this project i just had absolutely no ideas what to do whatsoever. it was very frustrating to me that i didn't have any ideas i wasn't used to not having a clue what we were doing or what i was going to do for a project.
eventually Mr. Aumiller gave me a book that had intervention ideas in it and i read it for the rest of that period until one idea popped out at me and i was thinking to myself "hey this idea has alot of potential and i could do alot of things with this." so i went to talk to Mr. Aumiller and he said it was a good idea and i should try it. so the first time i tried it i tried it in old hilliard but it was snowing outside and noone was walking around so i went to a higher traffic area where people would be outside for sure and still noone would cooperate with me on this project until one person cooperated and it was a good thing because it was dark and late so i had to be home soon but his project by far was the most difficult project this year for me.
